Greg Patterson has worked in the school bus industry for 25 years. “I love my job,” says Patterson. “But when I’m off the clock, I’m on my boat.” A transplanted Canadian who loves setting out on his 25-foot Com-Pac sailboat, he picked up his passion for both boats and trucks from his father, who loved cruising rivers in Ottawa, Ontario and bought an International truck dealership in the 70s.
Weekends and vacations will find Patterson plotting a course up and down the Gulf for trips to the many naturally preserved barrier islands that line the Mississippi coast. “There’s no more peaceful place to be than on the water,” says Patterson. “In the sailing community, you’ve got a friend wherever you drop anchor.”
