IC Bus prides itself on taking the extra measure of adding undercoating to the chassis both before and after it’s been assembled with the body, providing all components with an extra layer of protection.
IC Bus is the only school bus manufacturer that applies a final layer of undercoating after assembly as a standard feature, providing the underbody components with an extra layer of protection.
To prevent corrosion on our emergency door hinges, IC Bus engineers developed a new “hidden” door hinge that folds into the rear side panel, reducing exposure to the elements.
This concept was also applied to the luggage compartment door latches, which were changed from rust-prone paddle latches to the stainless-steel “T” handle. The battery box, toolbox and fuel fill latches have also been made nonmetallic to further prevent corrosion.
IC Bus will continue to pursue solutions before problems occur to better serve our customers with longer-lasting and safer vehicles.
