Zero in on our new standard for safety.

Take a closer look at the Electronic Stability Program and Collision Mitigation technology now standard on our CE Series and RE Series models.

With Electronic Stability Control and Collision Mitigation now standard on the CE Series and RE Series school bus, you have a new level of intelligent driver assistance and automatic intervention to help ensure your drivers remain in control.

Let’s take a look and see how these technologies can help you safely deliver passengers on time, every time.

Bendix® ESP® Electronic Stability Program

Now drivers can count on industry-leading stability in both dry and wet conditions. The Bendix® ESP® Electronic Stability Program performs on rain-, snow-, and ice-covered surfaces, helping to mitigate rollovers and loss of control.

How it works

Bendix® ESP® works with vehicle sensors to constantly monitor the status of the chassis and anticipate and adapt to loss-of-control and rollover events. In addition to notifying the driver though automatic alerts, the system can also quickly and automatically intervene to assist the driver if the vehicle is reaching a critical stability threshold. The integrated safety system can selectively apply vehicle brakes, as well as de-throttle the engine.

Bendix® ESP® Highlights

  • Technology that monitors the chassis, as well as driver intention
  • Notifications when drivers could potentially lose control
  • Enhanced braking capability
  • Automatic detection of potential instability situations
  • Assistance with rollover, as well as over/under steering
  • Mitigation for vehicle slides, skids and loss of control

Bendix® Wingman® Advanced™ Collision Mitigation

With a stable ride in check thanks to Electronic Stability Control, now it’s time to look at how a new IC Bus can help your drivers minimize the frequency and severity of rear-end collisions.

How it works

The Bendix® Wingman® Advanced™ system uses radar technology to detect objects up to 500 feet down the road, then employs active and passive assistance to mitigate the potential for collision. In addition to providing visual and audible driver alerts through a driver interface unit located on the dash, the system can automatically de-throttle and retard the engine while proactively applying the brakes.

Bendix® Wingman® Advanced™ Highlights

  • Following distance alerts that allow your drivers to make adjustments as needed
  • Impact alerts and emergency braking when following distance closes too fast
  • Stationary object alerts with a 3-second impact warning allowing the driver time to slow down or swerve
  • Adaptive cruise control to help drivers maintain a 3.5-second gap between vehicles in their path

Having the Bendix® Wingman® Advanced™ on board is like having a built-in assistant looking out for your driver, your vehicle and your precious cargo.

Bendix® Wingman® Fusion™ Collision Mitigation

Exclusively available on CE Series buses, the Bendix® Wingman® Fusion™ system includes all the benefits of the Advanced™ system, plus even more capabilities powered by radar-integrated camera technology. And to help minimize driver distraction, the system prioritizes alerts whenever they would occur simultaneously.

In addition to the Wingman® Advanced™ system, Wingman® Fusion™ provides:

  • Overspeed alerts to help your driver maintain safe vehicle operation
  • Lane departure warnings to mitigate sideswipe collisions
