Behind every IC Bus CE Series is a group of people who take their responsibility personally. All the engineers, welders, technicians, and inspectors building each bus play a role in creating a vehicle designed to safely serve students and their communities.

The CE Series school bus is manufactured entirely under one roof at the Tulsa, OK, facility. This integrated process facilitates seamless teamwork and higher quality control. While passengers might not see the16-gauge steel, or threaded roof bows, these strong, durable materials provide the stability they depend on.

One group deserves special consideration: the drivers. Driving a school bus is rarely easy, as noise, rowdy passengers, heavy traffic, and unpredictable weather can turn any route into a challenge. To help them manage these daily hurdles, we prioritize keeping drivers as comfortable and informed as possible.

Precision control & monitoring

5" Digital Color Display - Stay informed about the vehicle’s health with real-time visual and audible alerts, fault codes, and digital gauge readings. Intellipark®, collision avoidance systems, and optional tire pressure monitoring keep you updated at a glance.

Back-Lit Steering Wheel Switches/Controls - Color-coded switches allow drivers to keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road—and on the children at the bus stop. Diamond Logic(r) programming puts common tasks, like bus door operations, at the driver's fingertips.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (Optional) - Mitigate flats and blow-outs, and save diagnostic time, with real-time data (low pressure, extreme low pressure, high pressure, high temperature, system faults, and tire deviation) gathered through displays and alerts on the dash cluster..

Ergonomic Driver Environment

Wing Instrument Panel - Angled toward the driver for maximum comfort, every switches is positioned for easy access. Integrated "on" lights provide a quick visual reminder of active components.

Integrated Driver HVAC System - Intuitive controls for climate, and max defrost are always within arm’s reach, ensuring a clear windshield and comfortable cabin.

Stalk Shifter - Steering column transmission control enables easy shifting and regenerative braking (electric bus) without diverting attention from the road.

Full Range of Driver Seat Options - We designed these seats to reduce fatigue on routes. Features include:

High-end air suspension continuously senses inputs and adjusts the spring rate to dampen road bumps and vibrations, improving comfort while reducing fatigue.

Enhanced Visibility & Safety

Sloped Hood Design - By lowering the front profile, we’ve reduced blind spots in the critical forward "danger zone," making it easier to monitor students and pedestrians.

Bendix® Intellipark® Electronic Parking Brake (Air Brake Only) - An ergonomic electronic switch replaces the traditional pneumatic push/pull knob. The system electronically engages the parking brake when the bus meets critical interlocks (full stop, ignition off, parking door opening), reinforcing proper parking practices and mitigating rollaway and runaway accidents.

First Light Illuminated School Bus Signs (ISBS) and Fully Illuminated Stop Arms (FISA) - Standard on the IC Bus™ Electric CE Series and CE Series, the high-visibility ISBS and FIASA features ensure the bus stands out in fog, rain, or darkness.
